In Africa, thanks to a unique technical setup
For African operators, CFI broadcasts using a satellite in order to:
offer 20 minutes of international and pan-African news daily
foster the circulation of African programmes in which CFI invests €1 million euros a year
make cultural events and sports competitions with broad appeal available to TV channels
Enjoying increased empowerment, the 77 channels are involved in programme selection and rely on CFI to enhance and diversify their programme schedules and manage their resources better.
In the Mediterranean region and Asia, the media have already embraced the market economy approach. CFI has set up a support and consulting scheme for channel directors, to assist 17 operators with the purchasing of French programmes.
Some recent emblematic initiatives
CFI supported the worldwide broadcasting of Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s film Home, by offering it to its African TV partners.
At the request of FIFA and the AUB, CFI selected and supervised 20 African journalists preparing to cover the first-ever FIFA World Cup in Africa in three languages, French, English and Portuguese for all African TV channels.
The UEFA Champions League, the African Athletics Championship (CAA), the FIBA World Championship can be broadcast on all African channels thanks to CFI.
CFI offers Haiti state television a selection of programmes on natural catastrophes and the environment.
