4M Mashreq: first incubator session in Beirut

4M Mashreq: first incubator session in Beirut

The leaders of the 10 projects selected after the call for applications launched in December 2013 are getting together in Beirut from 21 to 26 April 2014 for a first incubator meeting devoted to editorial content.

They are coming from Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and Iraq to participate in this "incubator session", the first of the five sessions of 4M Mashreq, which aims to support emerging online news media organisations.
Adapted to the needs of the ten projects selected, these training sessions will focus particularly on developing groundbreaking audio, video and data content, finding technical solutions, business models, and team leadership.

Big day for 4M Mashreq!

This six-day workshop, called "Editorial, content and user experiences", is being led by Anne-Laure Chapelain, director of content and social media at La Netscouade, Julien Le Bot, journalist and founder of the Yakwala news platform and David Munir Nabti, CIO of AltCity.
The mornings will be devoted to "keynotes", whereas the afternoons will be reserved for coaching tailored to each project.
The participants will meet at the offices of AltCity, a Lebanese start-up incubator.

The next incubator sessions will be held in June, August, September and October.
Between each session, the ten projects will be monitored by the two teaching coordinators, Julien Le Bot and David Munir Nabti. Finally, all the beneficiaries of this programme will participate in the 4M Forum in Beirut, organised by CFI from 17 to 19 October 2014, which will bring together 150 regional and international new media professionals.

4M Mashreq is organised by CFI in partnership with AltCity (an enterprise facilitation and support organisation in Lebanon), Skeyes (Samir Kassir Foundation) and the Institut Français in Beirut.
