An EBTICAR-Media award-winner is the Courrier International readers’ choice

“Syrie, journaux intimes de la revolution ”, web site looks back and follows periods in the life of 4 Syrian citizen-journalists in the form of eye-witness accounts and news reports. It has just won the Courrier International readers’ choice prize and was voted best media resource at the recent 15th Documentary Film Month festival.

The same project was also an EBTICAR-Média award-winner, and will now benefit from CFI and European Union funding. Each week it posts new online videos from those 4 Syrian citizen-journalists - Amer in Damascus, Majid in Aleppo, Joudi in Lebanon, and Oussama, who is based, variously, in Paris, Istanbul and Syria - on a web site posted by the Arte TV channel.

The panel of judges for the media-resource award commented thus on the project: " Through the medium of their film journal, each of these 4 strong-minded Syrians offers a gripping on-the-spot eye-witness account. Their ongoing treatment of the revolution reminds us all that this period in their nation's history is still far from over. Their well-judged video posts provide a clear, accessible account of an extremely rich and full documentary content. "

The prize has been presented on Saturday, 29 November 2014, at the Gaîté Lyrique Theatre in Paris.
" Syrie, journaux intimes de la revolution " will be shown on the big screen on that occasion and also live-streamed.
