Talents de femmes – It’s a wrap!

The three scriptwriters for the series – Anne Bakoro Koné, Calmine Agbofun and Anna Gomis – got together in Dakar for a closing writing workshop running from 14 to 23 April 2018.

This workshop focused mostly on the dialogue and general tone of the series, and the balance between action, emotion and comedy. In total, four workshops attended by the authors were organised to develop the series.
The trainer, Marie Tréfousse, will now provide the scriptwriters with remote mentoring. The series is scheduled to be put into production and filmed in Casamance and Guinea-Bissau at the beginning of 2019 on behalf of a pan-African broadcaster.

The series tells the story of a young woman of the diaspora – a "repat nonetheless" – who, after leading a frenetic life in Europe chasing after promotion, discovers another life, another community and a new world.

CFI launched the " Talents de femmes" workshops in May 2017, in partnership with the Keewu production label, aiming to mentor experienced female African journalists and writers (that is to say, those who have already had their work published) in the techniques of scriptwriting.
The three women who took part in the workshop, from Senegal, Benin and Côte d'Ivoire, were selected from amongst 253 applicants.
