Tunis Afrique Presse speeds up its digital transition

The African Centre for the Training of Journalists and Communicators (CAPJC) is helping the agency Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) to develop the regional news page on its website.

TAP is seeking to increase and diversify the production of content produced by its network of regional correspondents. As part of this objective, two experts visited TAP on 18, 19 and 20 October 2017 in order to conduct a formal assessment of what is currently available on the agency's website and meet the key players (including the regional desk, the commercial department, the web department and regional correspondents). The experts will put forward several options for developing the current page, and will detail, for each of those options, the impact they would have on work organisation and the technical developments that would be necessary.

TAP's management team will therefore have at its disposal all the elements it needs to select the most appropriate development model. A guidance programme consisting of coaching and ad hoc interventions from experts will be put in place in order to bring the project to a successful conclusion. At the same time, CFI has also organised workshops for writing local and investigative reports, which are aimed at the correspondents working at TAP's regional offices.

This initiative forms part of the CAPJC Digital Labproject launched by the CAPJC and supported by CFI.
