CFI initiatives in the Indian Ocean

CFI has been forging close links with televisions in the Indian Ocean for several years: in Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritius, and in the Comoros islands.

Some examples of CFI initiatives in the region:

-  In 2006, CFI organised the launch of the first state television in the Comoros islands, TNC.

-  CFI assisted the Malagasy state television (TVM) with restructuring in 2006, when it relocated and also provided support in designing a new visual identity for the television.

-  SERTOI (Report Exchange System for Televisions in the Indian Ocean), a region-wide initiative: this network was set up by CFI in 2007 in order to boost the sharing of reports in the Indian Ocean via the Internet.

-  Iléo-i: Initiated by CFI in partnership with the Indian Ocean Commission, Ileo-i is a 26-minute bi-monthly magazine. Its aim is to foster cultural dialogue with reports on current affairs, history and the cultures of the region. Its editorial and broadcasting result from collaboration between the editorial teams of televisions from the Seychelles (SBC), Mauritius (MBC), Madagascar (ORTM), the Comoros Islands (RTUC), La Réunion and Mayotte (RFO).
