FESTIVAL
FIGRA 2006
The International Festival of News Reporting (FIGRA) was created in 1993. It takes place every year in the Nord-Pas de Calais region and, since 2002, at Le Touquet.
The main goals of FIGRA are to promote grand news reporting and corporate documentaries, as media for knowledge and information: essential and irreplaceable elements for top-quality television.
From the outset, the Festival has offered a diverse programme geared around television, cinema and photography mixed in with meetings and debates between the general public and professionals. Players in the worlds of TV, journalism and communication come along to check out and contribute to the event.
The selected films come from TVs, French and foreign audiovisual productions. These French and foreign corporate documentaries and news reports are presented to the public on a giant screen, in the presence of major reporters, directors, the youngsters’ jury and the professional jury.
This year, FIGRA took place from 22 to 26 March 2006. 170 international subjects have been short-listed. The awards ceremony took place on the closing night, Saturday 25 March. The professional jury awarded six prizes, the public and the youngsters’ jury each awarded one prize too.
