My appointment as Chairman of CFI on 14 April this year is both a great honour and a great pleasure for me.

I must take this opportunity to pay a tribute to my predecessor Serge Adda, and to say how much I admire the work that the CFI teams are accomplishing under the leadership of Jean Mino.

The CFI’s missions in audiovisual and cultural cooperation are of particular importance to me, and I would like to say to our many partners in Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, the Arab World, Asia and Oceania how much I enjoy working with them towards a common goal: to seek practical ways to facilitate and develop cultural diversity.
