CFI, original player in media cooperation

Canal France International (CFI) has acted for the past 20 years as the French operator in media cooperation for Africa, the Mediterranean region, the Balkans, Caucasus and Asia. As a France Télévisions subsidiary, CFI is funded by the French Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs to lead a network of partners in the media sector.

Drawing on its past experience as a TV channel, CFI is well placed to put forward appropriate responses to their needs, whatever language they work in. Coordinated by Managing Director, Etienne Fiatte, CFI provides support for its partners thinking through their strategic choices in the switch to digital media.

A unique mission: the transfer of expert knowledge

CFI develops long-standing relations with media groups which call on its expert knowledge to supervise or direct efforts to train staff and streamline their programme schedules. Professionals from France Télévisions and other entities such as the AFP, Canal+ and Rue 89 handle these courses.

CFI draws on its long-standing ties with its contacts in order to pinpoint their needs and gauge their determination to commit to sustainable solutions for their undertakings. CFI’s operations departments then offer consulting services or appropriate workshops.

Ongoing sharing aims to empower CFI partners in their efforts to achieve greater independence and competitive edge.
