Call for applications: Pravo-Justice Assistant-coordinator

CFI is recruiting a Assistant-coordinator in Ukraine.

The PRAVO-Justice project, launched at the end of 2017, is part of a broad programme of support for judicial sector reform in Ukraine. Implemented by a consortium led by Expertise France, it is financed by the Delegation of the European Union in Ukraine and will end in December 2020.

The actions carried out by CFI in this framework aim, through capacity building for journalists specialised in covering the justice system and support for the production and dissemination of content, to improve Ukrainians' knowledge of the judicial system, their knowledge of the reforms underway and, ultimately, their confidence in the justice system in their country.

In connection with CFI's headquarters in Paris, the assistant coordinator will contribute to the proper coordination and management of CFI's activities in the framework of the Pravo-Justice project in Ukraine: training in judicial journalism, study visits, conferences, support for the production of journalistic content, publication of a collection of judicial columns in Ukrainian.

Function of CFI Assistant-coordinator in Ukraine

Project logisitics:

- Contribute to the logistical organisation of project activities (training, study visits, conferences, support to the production of journalistic content, editing of a collection of judicial chronicles in Ukrainian);
- Assist the project team (HQ team, country coordinator, two Ukrainian and two international trainers) in their contacts with Ukrainian interlocutors (trainees, partners, providers);
- Contribute to the coordination with the PRAVO-Justice project office (participation in project monitoring meetings, coordination of translation and interpretation managed by Expertise France).

Administrative and contractual management, budget monitoring:

- Manage and compile the technical and/or administrative documentation generated for the administrative monitoring of projects;
- To ensure the administrative implementation of project activities: monitoring of contracts, setting up payments to trainees, beneficiary media, service providers;
- Contribute to the budgetary monitoring of the project: in liaison with CFI headquarters in Paris, establishment of monthly cash books, expenditure forecasts.

Assist the CFI coordinator in Ukraine in the implementation of the project:

- In case of absence, punctually assist the CFI coordinator in the implementation of the activities;
- Contribute to the preparation of project deliverables and activity reports;
- Contribute to the preparation and implementation of communication and visibility actions.

Qualifications and skills

- Master's degree in business administration, political science, law, economics, journalism, communication or other equivalent degree;
- Proven project management skills (technical, administrative and financial);
- Strong organizational skills, work capacity and autonomy, flexibility and organization: the candidate will be required to work on a daily basis with the HQ office in Paris. He or she will therefore have to provide track record of his or her ability to work remotely;
- Native Ukrainian language;
- Excellent command of English, written and spoken. Knowledge of French will be positively valued.

General and specific professional experience

- 5 years general professional experienc;
- Specific experience of 3 years in operational, administrative and financial management of development or humanitarian projects (international organizations, cooperation, NGOs;
- Knowledge of the work, operating methods and procedures of the European Union, in particular as regards grant management;
- Experience in the media or justice sectors will be positively valued.

Prerequisite: Ukrainian citizenship

Duration: 9 months - full time
Start Date: April 2020
End date : December 2020

Status: Individual entrepreneur status (FOP). Subcontracting will not be authorized.

Remuneration: to be negociated according to experience
