Two human rights investigations awarded prizes in Tunis

To mark the first Assises Internationales du Journalisme [International Journalism Conference], which took place in Tunis on 15-17 November 2018, CFI and AFD awarded two prizes to Tunisian journalists.

Aymen Touihri (Inkyfada), one of the eight beneficiaries of a production grant as part of the Kalimat Horra project, received the Best Reporting Prize for his work on the fate of child beggars.

Rakia Selmi (TAP), one of the eight participants of an investigative journalism training course, received the Best Investigation Prize for her article on the excessive use of preventative detention.

The two winners will be invited to France in March 2019 to attend the Tours Journalism Conference. They will then spend several days in Paris at the editorial offices of a number of media outlets, including France 24 and MCD.
