Within the scope of the YMER+ project, a conference focusing on the co-operation between journalists and NGOs in Yemen will take place on Wednesday 19 August from 10:30 to 13:30 (local time) to coincide with World Humanitarian Day.
The conference aims to discuss the opportunities and challenges related to cooperation between journalists and humanitarian NGOs in Yemen.
Representatives of local and international organisations and Yemeni journalists representing the five governorates (Sana'a, Al Hudaydah, Aden, Taiz and Hadhramaut) will share their experiences of this topic, particularly in relation to the dissemination of humanitarian information.
After these representatives and journalists have spoken, all of the participants (NGOs, journalists who are members of the YMER+ network and local media) will be invited to ask questions and give their opinions on the opportunities and challenges related to cooperation between journalists and humanitarian NGOs in Yemen.
Following the conference, a report with the main recommendations will be shared in Arabic and English.
