Ukrainian journalists in times of war: the second year of fighting

On 21 March 2023, in partnership with the French Embassy in Romania and the French Institute in Bucharest, the Yak Vdoma Residence organised a meeting on the topic of "Ukrainian journalists in times of war. The second year of fighting for the country".

Different perspectives on the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine were shared with the Romanian audience by several Ukrainian journalists. The discussions focused on Ukrainian society's right to build a democratic nation and on the conflict's impact on national security.

The meeting was opened by Philippe Wieber, First Counsellor of the French Embassy in Romania, and His Excellency Ihor Prokopchuk, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Romania.
During this meeting, journalists receiving support highlighted the initial outcomes from the Residence observed at local and regional level. These include the publication of articles and investigations, networking and the sharing of experiences, and the emergence of ideas on how to combat misinformation and Russian propaganda.
